Hmm, never heard of that. The guy that did it for me has 6 years of experience. He didn't do any damage to the seal at all. At least I didn't see any reasons not to reuse the seal. It looked fine to me. Plus he said if there are any problems down the road give him a call. Reasons why you would get a new seal.
1 the installer ****s it up when the seal is being removed
2 they simply don't care enough and cut it

To me it's just a way to squeeze more $$$ out of you. Seal is reusable as long as you don't **** it up when removing. I can see the same seal being reused 2-3 times. But then again it all depends on who's doing the install. It may have to be replaced after first time or after 4th or whatnot. On my wife's car the seal was removed twice before this one. It is still good. No leaks or any other issues so far. The rain last few days was a good test, even though the glue is still probably a bit soft.

Only if I get something close to OEM. Otherwise I'll keep driving with this mile long crack I have.

I've heard PPG glass is as close as oem you could get. It's what most places use too.

I'll call him right now.

So I've called him

150 for the glass(so far). He's going to see if he has any in stock. He said he would be available on monday.

I specificly asked for the 05 ones. He's going to look into the price of different glasses and get back to me today (i hope)

Holy smokes! Did you ask for something that can fit your car? I mean, why pay $$$ for OEM that may get a crack in it on your way home from the install?

Oh, I see. You want that lil factory tint on top of the windshield, right? I never thought about that because 04 didn't have it. So I just got one without it. I'm sure there is a generic brand that makes those with a tint. I think one with the tint was a bit less, but that won't be PPG type or whatever that super cool brand is.
