02 WRX sdn, driver's window

Got a hold of a used motor, interior door panel off, but unclear how to remove the motor/gear assembly so that I can swap motors. I don't have a service manual, do you remove the glass and unbolt the top sandwiched metal and pull up through there? Or do I need to unbolt more attachment points and pull through one of the cut outs? Many thanks, wasn't as straight forward as I expected, and I'd like to get it done this weekend, lucked out with the absence of rain this week.
