Right now I have 4 drives, but will only use 3 of them as external hdd's.
btw - the hdd's are IDE & I'd prefer the case to have either USB 2.0 or Ethernet.

You should definitely go network-attached. Connect it in to your router, share out the disks and you'll have access to your data anytime from any pc on the network.

Shooot. I'd really like to buy a nice big NAS, but can't afford to do that atm. I'll probably end up getting a case that holds more hdds if I can. Thanks for lookin' out

I'm also looking at this laptop right now:
Dell Vostro 1500 $549
- intel 2 duo t5270 1.4ghz 800mhz fsb/2mb cache
- 2gb ddr2 ram
- 160 gb hdd
- 8x dvd+rw

Those are the main things I'm concerned about since I don't play videos games really anymore on my PC and any that I do play are a few years old anyways. I'll probably format the laptop and put my xp pro on there. What do you guys think? Honestly...I just do hw, music, watch videos, browse online and thats about it with my computer so I figure I'd buy a laptop and consolidate space and when I move on out I won't have to lug a big computer with me.

I really want to but damn it's alot of $. Kinda why I'm trying to find an external hdd case with USB 2.0 & Ethernet. I was looking at it primarily for that point of access at any computer and especially when I go to a friend's house and they need to leech stuff off my hdd.
