Do I need to know anything special to replace a rear window?

Somebody decided it would be fun(ny) to chuck a jar of salsa at the back window tonight and shatter it good. Bunch of savages in this town.

Haven't called the insurance company yet as I'd like to get my own estimate first...

that's about the most effed up thing i've ever seen or heard of! you sure you didn't go and really **** someone off a few days ago?

and as far as replacing that thing goes, i'm not really sure. the integrated defroster really complicates things. does yours have an integrated antenna as well?

 

I'm pretty sure it's got the antenna in it as well. People who do random stuff like that should DIAF!

Yes. All things considered, there are three things that a man holds dear that you just don't mess with:

a) his wife/girlfriend

b) his pet

c) his ride

...though not always in the same order of importance that I have listed!

 

That is a good deal... I sold one to a retail customer in the service drive once for his '04 STi for about $750 plus installation.

Yeah, heater + antenna. $530+tax at your local friendly auto glass shop.
Damn the $500 deductible... The extra $21 I saved by not going with a $250 deductible now looks like the worst deal ever.

 

Well, look on the bright side... you can put that $21 toward buying the back window outright and not get screwed when the insurance company raises your rate after you make a claim.
