I'll give the 787B & Sauber Mercedes C9 a try tonight.
Also the Mitsu CZ3 Tarmac for small car.

Don't know if this'll help, but...

Mission #23

In this mission, you start out a couple seconds behind a pack of four
Skylines, and about 13 seconds behind a sole Skyline. You have to utilize
drafting to catch up to the leader before the 3 laps runs out. The best
way to do this is draft going into the curve until you reach about 172-175
mph. Then 'leap-frog' in front of the cars. Since the AI doesn't adjust
to TRY to draft you, you'll need to look in your rear-view mirror to stay
directly in front of the AI cars. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T SLOW DOWN.
The
pack will start to catch up eventually if you stay in line with them. Let
them pass you so you can draft them right back. This 'forced leap-
frogging' should let you catch the leader toward the end of the last lap.
DON'T let the leader draft you if you get in front.

Making a mission where you *have* to rely on the crappy AI playing its part to pass is friggen retarded. Either make the mission better, or make the AI better.

In fact, in general, I can't understand why the AI in GT is sooo awful... pitting on the last lap while leading and pulling away from other cars, pushing you off the track on a straight away just to get back to the "ideal" line, back markers ramming into leaders as if they're racing for te win on the last lap.... The AI in any decent racing game from the last 5 years is way better than GT's AI. There's really no excuse for the kinda BS those cars pull. At least there are very few races where the competition has a chance, or I'd be pissed if I was always losing to awful drivers.

Hopefully those hints work ...

I was making good progress on #34, I guess I can get better once I sit down and do it. I just don’t like to since you have to sit there for 2 minutes doing nothing while you wait for the other cars to run away.

Got within 10s of the lead car.

If it's just a "driving simulator", why are there all those race cars, race tracks, points, championships, and competitions?

A real driving simulator looks like this:

Simulating driving on a track is a hell lot better than simulating your commute to work ... you just have to face it that gt4 is not a serious racing game.
I bet they didn’t do jack with the AI because they though they can just throw in online play except they didn’t
