Maybe the traction control settings are different.
Anyways, I like the Costa di Amalfi special Conditions race for the bona fide lap time using whatever standardized car, because that way we get rich while we're practicing.
And since there's no "shortcuts" and you get penalized for wall banging, that's about as good as license tests.

u can still use the walls to your advantage on the hairpin turns going full speed without getting penalized

I'm trying taking the tightest line, and I can get to within like 3 seconds of the lead car (just outside drafting range) but no closer.
I tried swapping positions witht he pack of cars, trying to slipstream, get out a bit, then let one of them catch up, slingshot again, etc, but no dice.
I haven't passed the minivan one, either. Tough stuff. The 3-lap battles suck all ***, too.

even though this doesn't work, it still gets u to within 3 seconds of the lead car. Basically all I did was stay behind one car and draft him the whole time. Bumper contacts bumper the whole time. On the straights I can get it to 170 mph, but the turns is where I'm having problems maintaining that speed. It always drops back to 160 mph. If anyone knows a way to maintain 170 in the turns doing the same thing, please let me know.
