GT4: the "money" race

Best lap times at Cost di Amalfi for all of you? I figure this is the race we'll all run the most for obvious reasons, so let's compare times. I've run 2:02 forward and 2:03 backwards in my semi-real life STi coupe. Making 400 hp, using R4 tires. I think the car has a sub 2:00 in it easy.

Yeah, use some off the showroom car and make it official.

BTW I don't like the course, I mess up on the hairpins all the time :P I'll take you on Grand Canyon though.

Why don't we do something from the arcade mode. Then we won't have to buy anything.

Viper GTS race car @ Laguna Secca was my favorite GT3 combo.

The network code seems pretty bad

Sperry and our other roommate tried it the other day, and it was ***-slow and laggy to boot.

Yeah... in most games when there's lag, your opponent's car will freak out, or slide around, or disappear or something. In GT4... the whole simulation pauses while the lag sorts itself out. You can imagine how fun it is to be drifting around a sweeper, then the game just halts, your force feedback goes haywire, then suddenly the car's moving again.

No wonder they cancelled the online play, they couldn't even figure out how to get two cars to sync on a LAN.

Such as? The stock Spec C and Tommi Makinen Evo VI I spanked weren't all that fast, so what cars should we use for this unofficial challenge.

And screw the Arcade mode crap. I want trophies and progress and moneys for winning races.

One race, 2 laps. 5 minutes, tops (unless you're slow).

Five minutes to get internet bragging rights, seems like a steal to me

I don't have the game so I don't know. The reason I suggested an out of the box car is to level the playing field. Everybody runs the same car, same track. Fastest time is the fastest driver because you controlled the variables.

Uh, it's down to like 4:12 now dude. Can probably be done in like 3:50 in the just-right car.

I nominate the ford GT. As soon as I figure out how to win one.
