See that is just it, he did not log problems he invented them.
Ed would be the first person to say, "wow, you've got a really great tune on here. You should be very happy with it" if that were the case.
So he must be the only good tuner since he has not said this about any car that I know of...
My impression of him is that he is very, very straight-forward and very honest. I would not worry about this guy fudging the facts to trick people into tunes... it's not his style.
Have your impressions ever been wrong before? My impression of him is that he is not even fit to be a used car salesman at a hole in the wall car lot.
And yes, I would be shocked if Ed poked his head in here. You guys don't deserve the recognition a response from him would imply.
[waynes world]We're not worthy, We're not worthy[/waynes world]
He gave you what you wanted in the old thread.
No he did not, he still has not answered many questions that have been asked and he has yet (as far as I know) to take Nate up on his offer to discuss the matter.
There's no sense in beating a dead horse. ...well, besides certain sickos doing it because they find it fun...
The horse is not dead, he sitll continues to try to sell his snake oil...
...on a side note, I'm mystified as to why certain people haven't been banned/time-out'd and why certain threads haven't been canned.
Yeah I can not believe Ed is still allowed to post on these forums either...

I don't think Dre and Ali G have beef.

Its Either Ali G vs Ed Vaus or Dre Vs Ed Vaus

or it can be Ali G & Dre Vs Ed Vaus but that wouldn't be fair....maybe if Ed Vaus had Nathaniel Brian Fogarty Williams on his side he might do a little better but Nathans ethuging isn't too strong.

Wow I would be pissed if I was you. After SS tuned my car I felt like I had traded a Subaru in for a Ferrari...

I had refrained because you had asked for restraint in the post but this seems like an invite to me. Am I wrong?

All Nathaniel does is get mad. I don't think he could do too much now.

That's really the only thing that I have issue with you guys saying. I can completely understand how his actions could be seen as a poor way to try and steal business and I understand that ya'll are defensive about it.

Making unfounded comments that suggest somebody forged information is horrible. It's libel and defamation of character. Unless you can back it up, you have no right to say things like that. No data is even necessary to confirm a car that is audibly pinging. It wasn't just Ed and the owner, either. There were other people there who saw and felt how the car(s) were running.

Everyone makes mistakes. Even a large tuning company. You tune 300 cars and you're going to have 2 that aren't perfect. It's no big deal. It would be stupid to deny that likelyhood exists because of stubborness or simply because you have a tune from the same place and if it's on your car it must be the best thing in the world. It's incredibly immature to suggest that somebody doctored information because it makes a company that you support look a little less inimitable.

I guess I now see where this stuff is coming from. There's obviously nothing I would be able to say that could change you minds, as your opinions are not based on anything tangible. I'm not going to try.

I'll make sure to post my dyno and A/F graph though as soon as I hit up Gruppe-S and get it done. All I know is what I've seen first hand... and it all speaks very, very highly of Ed as a person and as a tuner.

Now you're just being silly.

Post a picture of your partial throttle map and we'll see if SS even touched it. And please don't get me wrong, it wouldn't be a bad thing if they didn't. I have never heard of a tuner modifying that stuff until Ed did it to my car...

Look, there's nothing I can do to stop you. That post wasn't meant as anything inflammatory and it wasn't meant as an argument. It's simply a review. Take it or leave it, but it's not something that's debateable, it's one person's experience and opinion and that's all it is and all it's supposed to be.

The title of this thread makes it pretty clear that the point of it is to do exactly what we're doing. If you feel I'm out of line posting my opinion in this thread, say so and I will gladly remit.

I think you're confused. We're not concerned about him stealing business, we're concerned about the way he conducts himself.

You can post where ever you want I was just being a smart *** because you told people that did not agree with you not to post in your thread as if you owned it or something.

If I really wanted to post over there I would have, but I do not see a reason to "crap in someone else's yard" if you will. If I frequented the BAIC forum I am sure I would have posted there but I don't so I didn't.

The comments were not unfounded. The logs that were posted simply did not show knock and they did not show timing or KC numbers that were outside the normal range. Maybe there could have been room for improvement but they certainly were not dangerous to the car at all.

Everyone makes mistakes.
Like going to a dorm room for your tune? Would you go to a med student's garage for surgery?
Even a large tuning company. You tune 300 cars and you're going to have 2 that aren't perfect.
I agree there will be some that are not perfect. There is a difference between not perfect and dangerous though.
It's no big deal. It would be stupid to deny that likelyhood exists because of stubborness or simply because you have a tune from the same place and if it's on your car it must be the best thing in the world.
I am not saying that what I have is the best thing in the world.
It's incredibly immature to suggest that somebody doctored information because it makes a company that you support look a little less inimitable.
I am not saying that he doctored the info. I believe that he does not know what the data logs are telling him and how to read them properly. He has a lot to learn and until he does he should refrain from attacking the work done by others.
