Advice on Gauges/Turbo Upgrade
Hey all,
Got 3 Greddy gauges being installed by S2 in a CF Centerpod for an '04 WRX Wagon. That'll be the EGT, Boost, and Air/Fuel Ratio. Many thanks to Scott at S-Squared for the gauges and Nate for the install.
Now, I'm thinking a couple of gauges on the steering column are in order. Perhaps Oil Temp and Oil Pressure, could be useful for autocross and track days.
Seeking advice on the merits of those gauges vs. others, or perhaps no additional gauges needed at all.
Also, wondering if a turbo upgrade with injectors and a Walbro might be nice. This is a semi-daily driver (really save it for weekends) that is used for autocross and the occaisional track day. Looked at the reviews for turbos. Deadbolt advises the TD05-16G or Super 16G might serve my purposes, but I'd like to hear comments and suggestions from those in the know. I wouldn't mind additional power, but something tells me that a quicker spool-up might also be of help in autocross. Not sure there is a turbo that would do both.
Thanks!

Calling Loball...come in, Loball...
Ask Lance what his setup is...he's smokin' out at T hill.
As you know, more air + more fuel = more power.
That being said, a lot of people in the know just assume that a bigger turbo will give bigger gains.
You have to decide where on the power band you'd like to see the gains; right off of idle, in the middle, or near redline.
Turbo sizing is a combo of voodoo & science.
