Advice: Element Tuning GT52 turbo upgrade
if I do plan to keep my car was looking at this setup:
it bolts directly onto the manifold, 380+dnyo'd hp numbers look good, stock internals? (very questionable 20psi @ 3600 rpm, World One claimed it would be safe).......
yes, I know what it entails..upgrading injectors, rails, fuel pump, FMIC, clutch, etc, etc
I guess, my question is what size turbo is it comparable to, spool/lag time, drivability, etc? This will not be daily, but still would like to keep drivability decent
Trying to time this for the next tuning....thanks in advance

I think it would be comparable to something like this turbocharger made by Slowboy Racing:

found this:
(52 lb/min, 375-500whp, Bolt-On) This turbocharger is very similar to many other 7cm TD06 20G framed bolt-ons but that's where the comparison ends. In this particular turbocharger we use a Garret GT30R 52 lbs compressor wheel, Garrett turbine wheel and shaft. The compressor is a GT30R rated at 52 lbs utilizing an internal wastegate. Typically we see 20 psi by 3600-3800 rpm tuning with the Hydra with pump gas power in the 375-400 whp range. Both housings are completely ported for increased flow and wastegate performance. Race gas power is in the 475-500whp range. Expect to achieve full boost with the proper modifications and a quality tune between 3500-4000rpms. Fuel upgrades for this turbocharger and proper engine management are required. The Element GT52 has been recently updated to increase internal wastegate performance. Increased port work, larger wastegate port, and a larger wastegate valve has been utilized to ensure boost creep free performance.

Pm'd you...
before choosing a turbo...I would talk to who will tune your car after the install...they may have some interesting things to say about what they have installed and tuned in the past...good and bad...

i was also looking at that turbo... but after i told worldone that i still needed to save up for the price quote they had given me, they ultimately stopped responding any of my emails. i must have been a waste of time sorry to add to that, i was told the turbo is a bit hard to tame, maybe due to its inefficient internal wastegate. maybe it will be a great turbo when paired with an external wastegate. they do claim that the wastegate was updated, so i wonder if the turbo is better now...

if you want big power then why not get a TD06 20g with an 8cm instead of a 7cm? check and see how much cfm that thing flows as that is ultimately what is gonna tell you if it's worth the $$

Few questions to ask yourself:
1- What is your goal ? (awhp,1/4 et.) etc.
2- What will you be doing the most auto X / Drag etc ?
3- You must start thinking of an EMS preferrebly a stand aloneHydra-Utec etc.
I have read good and neg. results on the GT52 Turbo. Thats why I went with a proven recipe. To be safe of future issues.
I personally would recommend Ultimate Racing GT35r Turbo Kit. FTW!!!

Positive Results on my 2004 STI STOCK Internals
428awhp on 93 Octane
520awhp w/C16 (VP)
Ran personal best 2 times with clutch issues: Car should run a 10.5 easy.
10.97 @129MPH 10.98 @ 127 11.0 @ 131mph
At the end of the project...It's all about the Tuner
Wish you best of Luck in your project. Keep us updated!!

1) roughly 380 awhp pump/roughly whatever I can pull out RG <also something that'll give me room for additional power later>
2) as of right now pure pleasure, future ??
3) yep, been starting to looking into a few engine managements
I'll do some research on the gt35...thanks for the tips...Mike
