after searching and coming up empty handed i'm lookin for the foglight mod for my 2002...basically i want to be able to run my fog's with parking light on(or just run them totally independent)..checking scooby mod's came up with a few hit's but thos mod's are for diff years...and tried a few and still nothing..
after checkin out scooby mod's also checked out sportscarcompact.com for the project wrx which explains the foglight mod they did on there wrx...followed the directions to the "T" and still nothing...?
if anyone did this mod would u mind helping me out ?...i'll hook u up with a jamba or plate lunch..hehe

well first of all what exactly are you trying to accomplish with this?
totally independent meaning you push a button and the lights come on (ie the parking light switch on the steering column).
well if you wouldn't mind doing that then here is how i would do it and just thinking about it makes sense and should work but you may incounter some problems... see below
this will be able to turn on in either one of these conditions if my thought process is correct.
1. turning the headlight switch to the first position = parking lights and foglights ON
2. pushing the parking light switch on the top of the steering column = parking lights and foglights ON
before doing this mod... you won't be able to control the foglights with the switch that is normally used to turn on the foglights after the headlight switch is turned to the second position.
with that in mind here is how you could do it...
1. cut the harness the foglight harness (not on the foglight side but the car side after the connector. at least 3" so that you can resplice if necessary)
2. find the parking light harness on the back of the headlight assembly (small bulb on outer side of headlight)
3. locate positive and negative for this light and for foglight.
4. splice wire or "T" into this wire.
warning: you may have to attach a resistor or something to step down the voltage/wattage so that you don't blow the parking light bulb. since your foglights consume more wattage/voltage than the parking lights this maybe necessary. another thing that might happen is that the foglights won't turn on since there isn't enough current...
good luck.
Jon

we checked it out a few days back and we used the switched ignition. pretty wierd, nevin had it set up but it wasnt working. we found that it just uses the orange parking wire as a switch. it already had its own relay so there was no need for that.
we added a wire from the switched ignition to the red green wire. we didnt cut the red green wire as it didnt seen to have any effect on anything. now that i think about it maybe we should have cut it, haha.
with this set up nevin was able to use his fog lights as long as he had the key on the ON position. parking didnt have to be on.
nevin if u got the time i think you should cut that red green wire coming from the dash side, it may be giving a 12+ signal to an unwanted area. im sure it will only be when the headlights are on tho...just to be safe, try it out laters..
anybody got the wire diagrams?? i couldnt find it, with it i can see how it works and see if this is a safe set up...
