I have friends that have bikes and its true that if they didnt have loud bikes, people wouldnt be able to hear them especially on the freeway. It just pisses me off that they are singling out import cars thats all. Even the Honda/Acura/Nissan guys, whatever it is. It's still wrong. They need to concentrate on the drug dealers and other real crimes out there!

Well, I just emailed SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) to help us out. From reading an article on there website they have enforced alot of laws about aftermarket products on vehicles in different states. I emailed them and told them about our dilema here in California. As soon as I get a response I will post it right away. One more story to tell you guys.... I was at my friends performance shop today and a customer came by in his 98 Honda Civic HB and told us that he just got pulled over in the Elk Grove area in Sacramento county. The officer that pulled him over told him that he seen his pillar gauge and pulled him over!! Once he pulled him over the officer told him to pop his hood. The officer issued a ticket for his Air Intake, Vehicle to low and modified exhaust. I dont understand how can he pull you over for gauges? I think the F**ked up! So here's a warning about driving in the Elk Grove area as well as West on Florin Road.. Be aware of the D*ckhead Sheriffs and Police there!
Here are a couple of websites on articles to help us out on this subject:

To answer you about the Car & Driver thing... F*ck yea man!! write to everyone about this crap. Maybe these cops will get a slap in the hands and it might stop. We have to try anything. Thanks for your support on this and whoever else might want to help... Peace

I know a thing or two about law enforcement (BA Criminal Justice 2004, Internship with New Britain CT police department, Volunteer with Citrus Heights PD, Accepted to Sacramento Sheriff's Academy but had to drop out in April because of a sick family menber) Thinking about firefighting now, so I come at this with an unbiased mind.
It's not the police that are making this a problem, it's the media, putting the jucy headline of "STREET RACING CLAIMS ANOTHER LIFE" on every accident that involves a young driver at night. It's an attention grabber that they use to make people tune into the news or buy their paper. In turn mothers and groups that believe everything thats on the news, give the city and the PD a hard time, by saying what are you doing to combat this problem. So they have to say something (and go through with it) to calm the public.
There was a supposed "Street Racing" death on Power Inn by Florin last week (reason for increased inforcement.)
As far as car profiling, it makes more sence for the police, people in Fast and Furious type cars are much likely to have warrents out on them and maybe a lil weed too. People in loud bikes and trucks are more likely working folks that can afford these more expensive modes of transportation. This may not be true but I can tell you thats how a lot of cops think.
To stop the modification stops kids need to stop driving like asses and killing themselves and others, it's that simple. As long as it continues it is just a jucy filler story that will make conserned people contact public officials.

As for the weed comment, I think the guys some of those trucks are just as likely, and possibly even some of the bikers. Hell if they have a better job like you say they might, then it's even a possiblity that hey have more weed, or even a more expensive drug(ie: coke).

fast and furious = 1988 CRX grey primer, covered in stickers, huge fart muffler, bumping rap.
Didn't say it was true, but I've been on more than a few traffic stops and pieces almost always fit. It's a hinky thing to do but fast and furious cars are very suspect.
And the most important part, people in fast and furious cars are more likely to be young and not know the law or their rights, allowing the cops to take advantage of the situation.

Man that was a crazy session that Clocks2 had. But its still not right. White/Asian/African American guys with camaros and mustangs etc... race, crash and die to, but like you said the media just wants to put import cars on the news. The weed comment was really uncalled for though. EVERYONE SMOKES WEED, YELLOW,PURPLE,BROWN whatever type people. Dont give us that BS about weed. Like that last guy who wrote *JVICK125* people with money do higher class drugs like cocaine... hmmm.... lemme see..... coke.... weed... whats worse?!? I know they're both bad but c'mon Jvick has a point. As for the RAP Music stereotype. the cops make it seem like higher class or older white folks dont listen to rap music. They should know by now that these rappers are making more money off of white american kids and adults. Last, the Harley comment saying they probably dont have drugs work hard and make a lot of money. THAT STILL DOES'NT EXEMPT ANYONE FROM BREAKING THE LAW! If the motorcycle decibels exceed the limit (80-88dB which they probably do) the california law states, then its ILLEGAL! No matter how much their bike costs or if they look like MODELED CITIZENS to the police. (keyword: LOOK)
I know you're just giving your bias point of view and believe me its very much appreciated. I'm just tired of the profiling that you admitted the police did while you were in your ride-alongs with them earlier. That kinda stuff has to stop now!
Here's a petition that I found online: http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_pe...d.cgi?AH4G63&1
Clocks2.. feel free to sign the petition.. any help would be appreciated.

The scary thing about this whole crackdown is that $5,000,000 will buy a couple months of strong harrassment and then the money should run out. What they are looking to do is to scare everyone and get the headlines to show they are making progress in the fight against street racing..............."over 2000 tickets issued for illegal mods in the first two months!"......etc. Be careful down there, oh and don't carry any weed!
Yup all these import car driver gangs are just full of weed. Not like the Mongols, Gypsey Jokers, Hells Angels, Outlaws, Bandidos. As wells as other 'organized crime' bikers. But let's pull over the guy in te japanese car since the news is blaming him for a death.
