California Crackdown on Modified Cars

Police in Sacramento, California announced Wednesday that they would use $5 million in federal money to begin cracking down on auto enthusiasts who modify their vehicles. The money will be used to form an undercover "Drag-Net" unit to stop motorists who appear to be driving modified cars. More...

This is definitely possible. A County Sheriff asked me TODAY if my car was stock...it is and then he threw all kinds of stupid questions at me, like why i have an intercooler for the stock turbo. He was also keen on wondering if i knew other WRX owners..i wisely declined. BTW, he pulled me over because he didn't know 2k5 Impreza wheels were bronze from the factory and that our exhaust is single tipped.

fricken basturds have nothing better to do. Soo annoying, I have a sheriff that is a regular at work that will sign all fix's off but its still annoying. Its not really the PD's or the Sheriffs that look for ****. Its the damn chippies that have nothing better to do.

but ive noticed nobody cares about the muscle cars its just imports. sometimes wagons dont get tickets or audi's that in CO at least

Last Time I was in sac I got a ticket for Loud exhaust.... Got a buddy to sign it off.. But if they are getting trained on what to look for it's going to be hard to hide things now!
