Just wanted to report cold starting in 42 degree weather this morning was easy as pie. Seems Ed figured out the problem and now that i've got to use the updated E85 map in the extremely cold weather this week i don't think i'll be going back to 91 anytime soon. It's really noticeable even in just daily driving not hitting boost situations how easily the car wants to rev up and go. I am praying for a station to open up some where near SF eventually so you all can enjoy .

So....had an oil change today by Mann Engineering in Santa Clara. For oil I decided to use their advice and try some new oil other then the Motul 5W-40 I have been using for a while. We put in Torco SR-1 which on paper looks 100 times better with their special additives. We'll see how it holds up over the next 3k miles.

Also removed my Q300 cat back today. Very sad to uninstall it but as a few of you know I needed something that was a bit more quiet since I generally work early AM. Gave it a good clean for the new owner and then installed a stock 11+ WRX/STi cat back. I find it hilarious that my car barely makes any noise but is fast as hell.

Prob about 14k. I cleaned it up, was a bit dirty from daily driving and the rain we've been having. I'm gonna keep the stock exhaust on for a bit till I get bored, after that it's a Milltek or the Gready SP Elite for sure.

Yeah I heard it. Sounds just right. My buddy Paul has it as well mated to a DP. Can't remember is flat489 had a dp or not haha. I'm actually enjoying the stock cat back lol. Kinda wish I could hear my car at WOT but it's nice to be a sleeper.

Its nice to have a quiet car. I went from an Invidia N1 Race to a Cobb catback and I love it. I wouldnt even mind being a little quieter.

How difficult or easy was the steering rack bushing install? I have a set waiting to install.

I looked at the DIY many times but i didn't want to mess with it since i could throw off my alignment if done improperly so i just had a shop install it. Difference is like night and day though.

I've heard really good things about South Bend Clutches for the 11+ WRX's so i gave them a go. Bought the daily version to preserve some years on my left leg lol.

South Bend Stage III Daily

This clutch package is designed for high HP vehicles desiring a start performance similar to O.E. The pressure plate is Race Engineered (SS) and SFI approved with significant load increase over stage 1 or 2 pressure plates (+600-800 lbs.). Expect a pedal effort increase of 20%-25%. A Performance Organic friction material with a high metal content increases torque and RPM capability and maintains low operating temperatures reducing wear and glazing. Recommended usages are daily, spirited street and occasional track.
