I really enjoyed staying up late last night. Watched three movies I wanted to see. I also like sleeping in. However, the first thing that hit my mind when I woke up was "I wish I'd gone riding" :\

I think we should try to bump up our overall distance this week. Any interest in starting at confluence, climbing clementine (which sucks), taking connector and doing FDLT, then connector back to the parking lot and stonewall to confluence down? Should be about 25 miles, but the last 4 or so are all downhill

Alright. Let me talk to Josey. She's been wanting to do some yard work (pull out some dead shrubs, plant a new tree, etc) so maybe I'll knock that out on Satrurday and we can ride Sunday. By early: 8am?
Hey Mike, what about the North or South Yuba Trail's...have you ever been there??? Saw a thread in MTBR with some photos...looked pretty sweet! How much time do you have on Sunday?

Should be a lot of people at Sea Otter so maybe it's a good time to head slightly out of town???
Shoot...maybe we could even hit up Hole in the Ground (HITG)??? Could still have some snow but with the crappy snow-year maybe not...

Ah ok. My only thing is that I can't really ride all day like that right now. Once school is out I'm definitely down to go up there and do a big ride, but as it is now I have to get home, make some time for Josey (cuz I sorta like her
) and then hammer out homework and stuff.
Oh,and btw, I came to my senses - I'm not doing summer classes. The benefit just isn't there
. This summer I definitely want to ride in Tahoe a bunch, maybe downieville, s. yuba, mt tam, all over the place. Can't wait for June

Those Yuba trails sound like fun. I know a good camping spot above Downieville that we could hit in the summer. We could ride Downieville one day and the Yuba stuff another day.
I drove out to Marin yesterday and Mt. Tam was calling my name. We need to head out there one weekend too!

I hadn't told you guys yet, but I did the S. Yuba trail on Thursday. This trail kicks your tail. I went by what one of the books said to do for a route. First you start off with a steep 2 mile dirt road climb. I then missed the first trail's turn off. I found Missouri Trail and just like the book said, it's a really steep down hill. Also because it's narrow and twisty with a steep drop off on the left, you can't go very fast. I stopped once to let my arms recover and my brakes smelled really hot.
When you get to more or less the bottom, there are lots of down trees. There is one pile of several trees that is like 8 feet high and you have to climb over them. The steep drop off on the left stays with you off and on for most of the rest of the ride. There are some places that have very scary drop offs. One place in particular I didn't even see the drop off until I stopped on a really rocky climb and looked to the left to see a 300 foot vertical drop right at the edge of the trail.
Missouri eventually joins S. Yuba. Some where in there you have to climb over about 200 yards of jagged rock. Even Superman couldn't ride this section. There are many sections that you have to get off and walk. There are several stretches where I think I did more walking than riding. This is one tough trail. The other side is that I was really sorry I didn't have a camera. The scenery is some of the best I've seen on any trail. There are some fantastic canyon views. I only did 16.6 miles, but it took me almost 4 hours!

. I'll be sure to bring a full charge on the camera that day.
