Yea....I've been checking both sites. I agree....just need to be patient and eventually I will get a good bike. I like that 04 S-works....but it's price went up too early.

Went to Sharp Bicycles today and they were trying to sell me a Stumpjumper......but I am still looking at an Enduro SL or Comp. I think I am going to convert my current ground control to a Full On tarmac trainer (as it's more a rigid than a Full suspension bike)....put some slicks on it, when I get a real mountain bike later this year. What do you guys think?
As for a new mtb, if you don't mind me asking, what has you so set on the Enduro?

I want to ride Sunday, but I doubt I'll be up for it. Go with the FATRAC guys.
I still want to do Salmon Falls too, but we'll have to hit it on Sunday real early - maybe next weekend?

Actually.....I'm not completely set on the Enduro. Just like the specs. What I should be doing is looking for a bike that can handle both up hill and down hill equally. Basically what I get will mainly factor on the price. I want to get the best used bike for under $1000, and am bias towards Specialized....but may get something else if the price is right.
I'll chat with you tomorrow to see if Sunday is a go. Till then....
Cheers

I agree that Specialized rocks
The only thing about the Enduro is that it's a little heavy. The Stumpjumper is more XC oriented and weighs a little less than the Enduro, but still has that plushness of a big FS bike.

Because of where we ride, weight is a big issue. My feeling is to go with the lightest thing you can afford. Of course it has to handle great too. Shoot, I need a lighter bike now too. Sonicsuby was hurting me on the hills today. We had some smoking speeds on the run back.

BTW - like I was saying after the ride, our average speed last week (mine anyway) was 9.4 (compared to a previous high of 8.4). Today..9.7 and we shaved five minutes off last weeks ride time (and last week was 9 minutes faster than any other time I've ridden the loop before).

Guys if I run late, go ahead without me. I got to take my wife to my folks first thing, and will try and meet you at 9am, if it looks like I will be late I will meet you at the trail intersections of connector and the loop.
See you guys tomorrow.
Ed
Matt, I'm sending you a PM with my cell number just in case.

Well, already have to replace a tire on the Epic. After yesterdays ride I noticed a scratch on the sidewall of my rear tire. It looked ok, but I decided to keep an eye on it - following todays ride, I had the bike on the stand, wiping down the chain and derailleurs and re-lubing everything. Checked the tire - the sidewall is splitting. D'oh. We really ripped it up this weekend. Will have pics online shortly.
