I didn't look closely enough to see who made it. I can afford $8,000 for a road bike anyway. The frame was carbon as were the cranks.

Hit me up, I've got a black 30.9 seatpost with your name on it. It's a cheapie, but it's new and will work. Buy lunch at Dos this week and it's yours

2005 SC VP Free

Took it on the Clementine Loop yesterday, but almost died due to peddling 40+ lbs uphill with only 9-speeds to work with...but once I made it to the top of Fuel Break...as they say "It's all down hill from here", and boy was it fun!

That thing looks mean, Lance

In unrelated news, Eddy is completely unaware of club guys right next to his car in Subarus and saying hello; me and Rich paced him on 5 for a few minutes with no response

Yeah, at least!!!! It's a Marzocchi 888 with 200mm of travel. Pretty crazy to say the least, but much better than that rental bike at NorthStar for sure. Can't wait to go back and try it out.

I pretty much rode down or over all obsitcals on Fuel Break, Culvert, & Confluence without much concern.

okay, we spent Thurs-Sunday at Northstar and i didn't get to ride even once!!!

family trip FTL!

and DANG there was nothing but MTB'ers up there...
surrounded by slack-angled triple-crowns 8"+ disc brakes and shin-burger pedals.

we rode to gondola up to the summit and i got to see a few runs/courses.
looked so fun!
i have to go back w/ a bike or rent one.

the nice thing was, my wife got to see how much fun the guys up there were having and she was talking about me getting a season pass next year.

i'd have to get full armor, cus i saw some THRASHED dudes coming off the hill.

one guy in the lot had a gouge almost all the way through his knee armor.
saved him from loosing a knee, but that musta' been a hard hit!

lance, that SC is hawt! an 888 would look fancy on that thing.

When I was in the ER up in Truckee, the guy next to me had just come in from Northstar.

i could totally see that.

i heard the life-flight chopper at least TWICE in the 4 days up there.

some of the courses look like you could easily get hurt with just the slightest miscalculation.

still, won't keep me away.

it was wierd, cus i saw a bunch of little kids (like 8-12 y/o) up there on the stunt courses and i saw quite a few old guys rockin' body armor and FF helmets also.
one old guy was REALLY fat. he was up there w/ his son, who looked maybe 14.
it was obvious the dad thought it would be just like riding a bike down the street and was in WAy over his head...while the kid was chomping att he bit to go back up the lift.

I'd like to ride at Northstar too, but there's absolutely no way I'm riding the downhill stuff or the stunt parks or FR stuff. I'll ride their XC trails but that's it. Those torn up guys getting flown out of there may not have been critical (If I had this fall about three miles sooner I would have been flown out) but they're probably facing months of recovery and a long time of not riding. And not riding is the least of their troubles. Recovering from broken bones, torn ligaments, etc, ****ing sucks.

I feel your pain. Having recovered from serious crashes myself, (road) I don't want the risk of a high speed downhill crash with lots of jagged rocks.

I'm not knocking you guys that want to do it. More power to you and I hope you have a wonderful time doing it. Just be aware of the risk. Recovery from a serious crash will put you off the bike for a long time and generally screw up your life for at least as long.
