So Im thinkin of selling my Trek 3900 for something a little more agressive. Maybe kick it up to the 4300 or a Specialized Hardrock XC or the Hardrock Sport. Anyone have any experience with these?

I have experience with the HardRock. I'd recommend the regular HardRock over the XC. The HardRock has an 8spd cassette and the XC a 7spd, which makes upgrading or replacing parts later a bit more of a challenge. The price difference between the two, for the better components isn't enough to not get the HardRock.
So the hardrock sport over the xc then.
But I dunno if the sport is that much diff than the 3900 i have

Yeah they're going to be similar. Especially at the lower pricepoints, most bikes are going to be the same from brand to brand. There doesn't start to be some real technology differences until you get higher up in to the prices. It might be better for you to just ride the Trek (there's a lot of great trails in Bidwell) until you feel like you're ready to upgrade and then go for it with something more expensive.

Anyone for a ride this weekend?
I'll be on the Bridgestone as my rear shock is again having issues on the Klein. I'm sending it back to Cane Creek tomorrow.

Eh, well, unless you're uncomfotable on your bike or something, there's probably not going to be much benefit with getting a new one. If you start mountain biking you want to get rid of the reflectors and kickstand
whaddo you mean?
kickstands are teh hawt!

should be a perfectly fine entry level bike.
Performance Bikes carries Iron Horse bikes that get you pretty decent components for the price or there is always the best bang for the buck REI house bikes (a.k.a. Novara) on year/season end clearance.
