Lightbulb Tour of the massive NUMMI car plant in Fremont

http://www.nummi.com/web_tour.php

When I was younger I forgot to fill out a field trip slip that my parents were supposed to sign so I got denied of a tour of the plant... Everyone I know thats been there raves about how great and massive it is, etc...

So since that day in the 6th grade I've always regretted not going there, and now with car plants shutting down all over America, I'm afraid that our chance to check out the plant will pass us up.

The plant is located in south Fremont in the industrial area. The plant is HUUUGE, probably the size of Great America if I had to judge the size.

I figured since there are a lot of people employed by NUMMI that maybe they'd know about manned tours and could get us in... If not, maybe someone just knows how it works. Any help would be appreciated. I called them twice and left messages but haven't heard anything back.

So how many of you guys would be down for a tour of the plant? It'd be a subaru exclusive event (with some non-subie owners that used to drive subies like rau, etc). I think it'd be really friggin fun.

Afterwords perhaps we can hit up Dave And Busters for some food since it's only 2 exits down in Milpitas.

What do you guys think? It'd have to be on a weekend because people work... Would you be interested? Can anyone call the number and leave messages like I did to overwhelm their inbox so they take us seriously?

Just reply here and discuss.

CRAP! I just looked at the dates and they only do weekdays in the morning. Perhaps some of you could say you have a doctors appt and sneak out for a couple hours for this?

Lets see if we can still do a group tour even if it still is during the week. I know I'm still down!

What days work best for you'z?

Sounds like a great plan. I, of course, won't be able to make it, but you know I would if I could!
Hope you like lots and lots of fumes at NUMMI, cuz that's all I remember from my field trip there

What are the odds they would actually let us drive on it? I'm gonna guess they would not be in our favor.
