Exclamation NUMMI hiring for full time Quality Engineers

Hey everyone. I work for NUMMI as a QC Engineer. For those who dont know what NUMMI is or where it is. Its a Toyota/GM manufacturing plant located in Fremont off of 880. Its split into two lines, Tacoma and Corolla/Vibe. Anyway, they just approved the requisitions for 9 full time engineers. Essentially the work is parts/supplier management. Last time I checked, entry level engineers start around 54k-57k and overtime compensation. Generally you need a Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems engineering background. If you're interested or have questions about the position pm or email me at joncmann@gmail.com or jmann@nummi.com.

whoever is qualified should apply. I went on a class field trip to NUMMI (highly encourage those of u who haven't gone to the free tour to do so) awhile back and they have this motto of an "employee for life" mentality. They also get automatic raises like every 6 months or something.

Thumbs up

NUMMI ftw. I too took the tour one Tuesday some years ago. At least we have a car manufacturing plant in the area and one that gives tours too!

EE would be doing the same as MEs and IEs. However, an EE would mostly cover the Engine/Electrical Systems of the vehicle.

As for internships, Nummi only offers co-op positions to students. Its a ~6 month program and they utilize you as a full time engineer most of the time.

Employee for life? They might want to think about starting their people out at a little more than $60K. Especially out here in CA. Who wants to go to school, earn a degree in engineering just to work for that kind of chicken scratch? You'd barely be able to pay rent (forget about a mortgage) and pay back your school loans at the same time. Forgive me, I'm just playing devils advocate.

$54-$57K with an Engineering degree and you have to pay to live in the Bay Area? Is it even possible to live here on that kind of salary? Seriously?

I do fine on less than that. That's what apartments are for. I don't mind living within those means.
