Yeah that's pretty easy to diagnose.

They said the oil pan is too? Which is more expensive apparently to seal than the covers

They put Oil Return Replacement on the estimate. I guess he thought I was a person he had talked to on the phone...I asked him to call me before doing that because I dont think I need that done, Its like 300 for labor alone. Gave me a bad feeling in the gut, idk if you know what I mean.

Oil return line on the turbo? That's probably what's making most of that mess. I'd either get that fixed or fix it yourself.

As for the oil pan... are they sure it's the oil pan? those don't develop leaks often unless whoever did it the first time did a bad job. Could be the oil separator plate or the oil pump. I'd honestly be pretty surprised if your pan is leaking. There are a lot of other leaks that can gather at the pan. Doing the oil pan is a PITA. You have to disconnect all sorts of **** and raise the motor up. Then drop the pan. Clean all the **** off. Put new red gasket sealer in then put it back together again.

But I'd seriously start from the top down.

WTF? Really... maybe get a different stock down pipe. Maybe the one you have is toasted.

What are your mods? Did you test hot?

I tested hot, the down pipe worked on my friends car about 3 months ago just fine. My car right now just has a catback and intake with sticker. Everything passed except the sniffer. It read 1.9 which is almost double the pass is (pass is 1.0) I have my access port uninstalled and I have no check engine lights. I am totally baffled as to what this could be

How long ago did you uninstall the AP? What intake?

You might need to just drive it for a while. It takes time to relearn and reset. Especially with an intake. When you uninstalled it probably just put the stock tune back on and your ecu needs to adjust for the intake.

Is it free retest? Can you get a stock intake?

I'd get a couple gallons of e85 and test again with the car nice and hot.

I passed with an intake and a lot more miles so I don't know what the deal is.

Exhaust doesn't have anything to do with the sniffer.

DP is the only part that effects that.

Uninstalled it at the shop. I may try again. He said he would retest it for free. My deadline is the 21st, I can get it extended because it failed. I have the Cobb short ram. I think I'm going to try to stop and get some e85 on the way to Tahoe Friday, but if there is a problem I want to try to fix It. The smog tec said that with those numbers I'm probably getting 20% worse fuel economy than I should. My car has 136k miles

I have a stock intake at my home, but would it really throw the numbers off that much? Would it really double my numbers? I'm very confused by it haha
