Sweet thanks. Last time I went to the dealership and they were like $5.50 each! I was like... WTF?

I go through them like crazy because I drive on gravel. They get dried out.

Side note... I'm currently using zip ties. LOL!

I'm half tempted to pick up a used set of heads and have them machined and built. Then buy a brand new STI short block. You can get blocks for under $2300 if you look around. Head work is gonna run me a ton but I can do some cams... or at least sti cams.

Least I have time right now. I was looking at a cossy block and an axis block but both of those are probably WAY more than I need. The cossy can take like 600hp easy and I'll be doing like 325 tops.

Yeah. I was over and in a pinch so I went. Last time I will EVER go to any of those lube on the go places. They told me the price and I was like... WTF.

I do them at home with killer oil and wix filters for like $38-45. Anything over $65 in my opinion is rip off pure and simple.

I mean I can do the oil change at walmart with royal purple and then go buy another filter... wix and still be under $70.... and that's buying two filters. But I'm fine with the Fram HD filter. I use them when I can't find the wix and my car is doing just fine. LOL. Just don't drive 8000 miles on them.

I'd take my car to a shop but they're too damn far for me. I'd love to give that business to GST or what not but it takes me 2 hours to get there.

Yeah.

If I buy one through Mike I'll probably upgrade it though. LOL! That's why I'm trying to avoid it. I'd be too tempted to be like... yeah stuff crazy isht in there! LOL!

Wonder if that dude selling the block pieces will sell me just the manley rods and I can pick up some hybrid forged pistons and arp race bearings and studs.

That would probably be all I'd need.

Do ej20 heads port matched and cleaned up with some titanium springs and retainers and maybe do some cams if I can find a set that aren't too gnarly. I'd like something I can get by smog with... 264 probably as high as I could go.

I just want to try to do the install myself to keep cost down. It's like $1000 in labor at least. I can probably do it at my buddies shop on his lift over 2 weekends. I can recharge my AC there too. LOL.

I'm really trying to do this out of pocket under $5000. We'd like to buy a house and this is digging into that. I'd really like $4000 but I jumped on that 18g so I have to prep for it a little bit. The injectors and intercooler alone are gonna put me at $5 instead of $4.

You never said anything about those Snap On ratchets. I have some old Snap On ratchets that they told me to scrap when they sent me some replacements. I rebuilt them and they work ok. You are welcome to them.

That's rough, I definitely appreciate the OT on payday its just a little rough going in at 1:30am one day then 7:00am another day. Plus I work a nine hr schedule so when I work 12 hrs I only get 3 hrs OT instead of 4. Oh well maybe if things work out I'll have some extra cash for a used AP
