Before I came into this thread I saw that GST had that 18G for sale and for some reason I knew you'd be buying it haha. Now that I have decided to keep my car I have decided to have EQ build me a hybrid motor with pinks/sti intercooler/vf series turbo etc..I just need to start collecting parts for the build

But I really want to get a long block as I fear if my heads are not toast they would soon be. I'd like to go built but we'll see what happens.
If I find an STI or a complete swap I'll hook you up with the turbo and the pinks for cheap as I won't need the turbo or the injectors... I'll need something much larger for injectors.
Word. I just got a TM full of pictures of a built hybrid motor I was looking at.

I dropped a line to that link you sent me. He's got one with 23,000 miles on it. Complete for $4500 shipped. That included the ECU and the harnesses. Not bad. I wish it was closer to $3500 but they're a business so I expect it to be more. They don't do leak down for some reason but they do offer 30 day warrantee so I could test it myself and if it's crap just give it back to them.
I told them I had my eye on one for $3000. I actually have my eye on one that's nearly complete... no turbo or injectors... which I don't need and one that's 100% complete. Both for $3000. One is local and one is not. If the local one gets back to me I'm gonna jump on it.
You may not be able to tell but there are a few things that could be screwing up your toe.

Yeah I'm waiting on him to give me an adjusted price if I pick it up myself. I figure it'll cost me about $100 in gas so it's probably way cheaper than shipping.
Hopefully he'll come down a little bit. If so I may pull the trigger. I'd really like to do a full built motor but I just can't swing $7000. I'm trying to lock all this down for under $5000.
I'm more than likely getting an 04/05 STI AP for next to nothing. Then the XT if I can figure out how to get it tomorrow. I've got the intake. I've got the manifold.
I'll need to pick up a clutch, trans/diff fluid, a few odds and ends. Injectors. Etc.
If I can get most of it for around $5000 it'll be worth it. Otherwise I might as well just do a 2.1 liter built motor with reworked heads.
That's why I want to buy an entire car. Going that route I can offset some of the expense with the parts I don't need.
Selling my 2.0 isn't gonna get me much of anything. If I get the VF39 and the injectors I can get like $500 out of that. And maybe $500 out of my entire swap but more than likely it'll be more like $250.
I'll figure it out. Damned car.
Anyone going through hayward tomorrow?
