It's above sacramento. And it's a hella nice area. Santa Cruz is actually overpriced, and ghetto as hell. I jut think its overrated. Not to mention I've snowboarded since I was like 14 so I'm having serious withdrawals. Surfing just couldn't make up for no snowboarding.
I also just think I can have a way better life for my girls with a 4 bedroom house with a pool and a garage for 800 instead of a motel sized studio for 1185

they are good for smooth bumpless driving haha...a bit harsh over bumps and almost no suspension travel...when i jack my car up, the rear comes up with the front at about the same time haha
so around tight L turns (like on street corners and such, 25mph or less turns), the inside wheel will lift and skip sometimes if im going fast which is annoying, but i dont drive hard on city streets so it doesnt bother me that much
on freeways and "dipping" lanes they are super nice...i drive 17 a lot and i love these coils for the road although there are a few bumps that make me want to go softer
not sure what im gonna do honestly...i cant have my car be without a suspension waiting for revalves for more than a few days

It's not that far of a drive to snowboard? You don't have to live IN Santa Cruz. There are tons of awesome spots in the area that aren't that bad. But yes it is overpriced. You have to pay a lot to live out here and the jobs do not pay enough to compensate. It's a crappy situation.
Why not Aptos or Soquel? You can buy houses in the $285-350 range that are nice and not to far from the ocean.
Do you have family out there?
As for the lack of snowboarding... why in the hell would you stop snowboarding because you moved to Santa Cruz? I've been snowboarding since 1992 and I've never lived closer than 3 hours to a resort and I used to put in 50 plus a year. I used to live in friggin San Dimas bro! I still snowboarded. That's the beauty of SC. You have surf, skate, mtb riding all local and you're 3.5 hours from the best resorts on the west coast. That's not that bad. I'd rather be close to one and have a minor drive for the other than live in a hot *** place, be 2.5 hours from the beach and still be nearly 2 hours from killer resorts. I'm a one or the other kind of dude I guess. LOL.
But I see where you're coming from. Wife and I kicked around moving to Vegas so we could buy a fat pad with a pool and have that dream. Decided I'd rather be close to my family.

I used to live off crenshaw and when I lived in Haward I lived of tampa. Had two shootings and 2 HUGE brawls that I could see from my balcony.
The westside has some ghetto people and some run down stuff but it's hardly... ghetto. You live a block from the ocean and I don't fear for my life when I walk around at night. LOL.

Jeff has some killer coils too. He'd probably let you do payments while you sell what you have.
I get lift and skip too.... huge sways.

Yeah if you think SC is ghetto then you haven't lived in the ghetto.
