possible heater hose disconnected?

hello,

i noticed a while back when swapping my dp, a random black rubber hose was coming out of the firewall. my friend's wrx's look like the same one is connected to something, but i couldn't really make it out though because it was dark and the heatshield was in the way.

anyway, i believe that's why my heater doesn't work? any help would be appreciated.
also, my car runs fine. no coolant issues or cel's
thanks

that's your A/C condenser(?) drain line, if right next to the DP (nice engineering, Subaru). Your heater woes are elsewhere. GL, dood.

If you can hear the blower motor working under the passenger side of the dashboard, then you are probably running low on coolant. Pop the hood, open the header tank next to the intake manifold while the car is running, and see how much water will fit into the system. I bet its more than a little.

Your car won't overheat very easily when the weather is this cold, even if you only have half the normal amount of coolant in it. This will, however, prevent coolant from getting to the little radiator under the dashboard, and result in a worthless heating system that just keeps blowing cold air.

The hose hanging from the firewall on the passenger side of the downpipe has nothing to do with your issue.
