My car battery died recently, (btw, I drive a '98 Imp OBS, 2.5l), and when i hooked up my bat to a charger, all the lights (meaning parking lights and interior lights, such as my dash, but not the headlights) started flashing, and would intermittently stop flashing. Then, as suddenly as they stopped, they'd start back up again. Is it a short, or does the car have some type of alarm that I'm not aware of?

I'll add this... I just bought the car, very cheaply I might add. The car needed brakes, and now I'm working on replacing the rear wheel bearing. It was during this down time that this all started happening. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

When the battery is disconnected then reconnected the keyless/alarm system powers up in panic mode. If you have the remote you should be able to stop it by pressing the unlock button, otherwise I believe there is a button under the dash someplace that you push with the key in the on position.
Information on the factory keyless/alarm system is in the manual, if you don't have one you can go to www.mysubaru.com and register, they will send you one. If for some reason that does not work (car too old maybe, don't know if there is a limit on year for the free manual) you can see your local dealer.
I do not know if your car came standard with keyless and/or alarm or if it was an option. A dealer should be able to tell you that as well.
