how do i remove the intake silencer on my 03 wrx???

 

there are many posts discussing what i think your talking about as a "snorkel delete" so I would try going there through the search menu.

gotta remove front right wheel. Take out the lining and unbolt the silencer. Pretty easy thing to do. good luck.

 

nah, just crank the steering wheel all the way left. did this last night and pulled the snorkus out from under the car [stock height, no jack]. just need to remove a good portion of the liner from the fender and under the corner.

 

im guessing this intake silencer is only from the stock intake?

 

well, it's part of the stock intake. but it's fine to remove it whether you have a stock or aftermarket intake.

 

i dont quite understand this one.... whats the silencer and whats it do?

 

it silences the intake! no, seriously ... it does. and I believe it's also to help catch any water that may come in thru the intake. but honestly, if you have water up over the radiator, you have some bigger issues. the intake sounds a bit more agressive and some people don't like it. I feel like it was choking the engine, and now she can finally breeeeeathe!
