Intake silencer removal & water
I recently took off my silencer ('03 REX) from the intake and it's about to rain all weekend...I have ordered a velocity stack to put into the stock airbox (per a scoobymod.com thread), but it hasn't arrived yet...
My question is:
Should I worry about rain getting by the hood and down into the airbox???
(I have temporarly put a 3" rubber pipe from the airbox into the wheelwell because I am worried about the rain....)

Thanks for the help...and what's with some people saying you shouldn't removed the silencer because it is supposed to be a "pressurized" system?? What does that mean anyway?
BTW, shamr0ck, were did you get your blank from?? What the part number???

is it really a pressurized system??? I just took mine out and have that plastic part put in. There is still a gap though from where the airbox meets with the fenderwall but i guess u can cut the stock silencer at the top and just slide that piece in so its a perfect fit to the fender. The sound is pretty cool. When under hard acceleration u hear it sucking air in which sounds pretty deap. Then when shifting u hear the bov, its a kshhhhhh noise more than a pshhhhhhh.

I agree about the sound. I took mine off because I felt like I couldn't hear what the engine was doing.
Since my 1st post on this topic, I have received my "velocity stack" from summit racing and I followed the install procedures on Scoobymods.com. I am very please with how it all turned out!!
I'm still running the stock air filter until it needs to be changed in a couple thousand miles, but I suspect a K&N will make the sounds a bit louder...
