how to install resistor for egt sensor on uppipe

hey can someone please explain to me how i use the 2.2K ohm 1/2W resistor from radioshack to stop the check engine light.

bend the resistor into a U shape... unplug plug for egt sensor and insert the now U shape into the plug(harness side) and tape it from coming loose.

If I might add (Since I did this recently) You need to make sure that it's very secure in there. If it bumps out at all, it will set your CEL back on (like mine did).

Also, I suggest disconnecting your battery and reset your ECU before turning it back on after placing the resistor into the connection.

You also need to not force the resistor into the connection, it will bend easily if you do. I'm not sure if other people have had the thing sticking out, but I snipped the leads a bit and placed it in to be flush down into the connection, folded up some electrical tape over it and then taped the entire connection closed.
