Where do I install the resistor for the uppipe?

Where do I install the resistor for the uppipe?
I just put in my uppipe and I threw a CEL and I bought the 2.2K resistors, but I need to know where to put it, I searched but everyone said to just disconnect the harness and shove it in there...I dont get it where do I shove it in and do I leave the harness disconnected??
please help asap
