Car Info: 2003 WRX with STI engine.
Waz up peeps. My JDM V8 swap is complete. I did it in 8 days by myself. But it kicked my ***!
I had it running on the 4th day just to make sure the engine was good cause I got low compression readings on it when I tested it on the pallet. I guess they don't test well cold after setting for a few years.
Anyway, the engine is good! The JDM 2.0L STI engine kicks ***! Less torque, but more power. The twin scroll turbo spools up at 2200 to 2500 RPM! The gear ratio in the 6 speed is really close, keeps it in the power band. Does anyone know if the ratios are the same in the USDM STI 6 speed trans?
Exhaust is louder that the USDM STI. I need a better muffler. Looking for a borla hush.
Wish we had a 1/4 mile track. I would like to see if a stock 03 JDM STI is faster than a stock 04 USDM STI.........
I'll post pics when I get around to it.

JDM 6 speed has a tighter gear ratio in 5 & 6 gear
congrats on the swap...
what type of compression readings were you getting on the palette? Did you take any pictures? What about a first start up video?
Did you have the AVCS running? Any CELs?
when I did mine I did a leak down test and showed less than 3% leakage on all cylinders.
I didn't know you got a JDM V8 engine... Your twin scroll setup is definitely an awesome setup. You should definitely invest (pretty expensive) on an aftermarket twin scroll up pipe, header, down pipe setup to make full boost at 2500RPM.
