to be honest being away from Hawaii for so long anything will do. but I miss more of the sashimi stuff, like the poke from Food Land.

try kats sushi. its all you can eat fresh hand made sushi. its across the street of 76 gas station on s.king st. in town. they have all you can eat sushi for $20!!! and plate lunches as well. +byob.... Kat's FTW

I helped set up kurukuru and helped them operate the 1st week. You're crazy if you think genki is better. I used to work for and with the best sushi chefs in hawaii and i guarantee you the quality was very close with maguro and hamachi. as far as rare japan fish, well they don't have it. But I don't know how many people will pay $300-400/pp for sushi. And yes, there are restaurants ( i don't work restaurants anymore though) in hawaii that your dinner can run you a grand. i'm not joking....sadly
