What should I do?
This whole situation is being handled very poorly. How much would it cost Schuman to replace some gaskets, a quarter tank of 100 octane gas, give a formal apology to Jon and assure the community that this will NEVER happen again ? Bout $75 plus labor for install of said gaskets. That is a VERY small amount compared to the business that may have been lost as a result of this situation.

Waipahu GM skills are seriously lacking,
check the thread "el jeffe" started. boss hog is more interested in arguing than taking care of the problem, no matter what the problem is. A lot of us are military, we know what being a manager entails. boss hog, why where you moved to Waipahu?

San,
I have been with Schuman for over seven years now. The first six were at our Kaimuki store. It was a cool little store with no service department. Nice quiet existance. If you remember you called me to discuss the problem you had with WMR. I appreciated the heads up and informed Mr. Schuman. As a result we stopped refering our customers to WMR.
Mr. Schuman personally asked me to come to Waipahu because there was no General Manager overseeing both the sales and service departments. That's how I got here. As to your vote of confidence it has been noted. Thanks for your imput. And thank you for your service to our country.
I'm not here to argue. I have been watching this board for quite a while and have resisted the temptation to post anything because I know the how most people feel about car dealers. Most of the time we are damned if we do damned if we don't.
Aloha,
Chris

Islandx,
This whole thing isn't resolved because I have to speak with Braun and the tech first thing Monday morning. I called Jon on Friday as soon as Braun told me there was a complaint we talked about his concers. Jon did not say anything to me about any blown gaskets. He called me on Saturday after I posted for the fist time on this board and the issue of blown gaskets came up. I offered to have Ed check the vehicle as soon as he gets back from national gaurd since Jon trusts him. If you have any questions check with Jon. He taped the whole conversation.
The gas issue is easy. I need to check the record to see how far the tech drove the car. The road test from our dealership to Ka Uka blvd. shouldn't have used a quarter tank. I what to get the facts straight before I do anything. Again, our shop techs are union and I don't want to deal with a grievence. That is no fun.
I hope to put this to bed first thing Monday. I'm sure Jon will keep you all informed.
Good night, I'm going to bed.

This whole issue and the manner in which it is being handled is mind-boggling! Between this thread and el-jeffe's thread..I can't help to consider taking my business elsewhere. I also tend to think it is not proper for a GM to be flaming a fellow enthusiast (see other thread), as it is only hurting the dealership sales/reputation within the subaru community. Hopefully on monday this is all straightened out and the victim here gets compensated for the obvious loss he incurred!

Unbelievable! I cannot believe that grown men and supposed professionals are airing dirty laundry on an enthusiast board! The juvenile ramblings of Boss Hog is absolutely numbing. You are the General Manager of a company of which 90% of us are your regular customers, either through purchase or service. Your slanderous comments about Mach5 (a lost customer) is appalling considering you did not witness any altercation whatsoever. Your statements and avoidance of Infek's issues have discredited your company's reputation for trust and repeat business. Keep in consideration when you are writing on this forum we do not see you as Chris, we see you as a high level representative of a business in which all of us are your customers. We all own Subarus, we all make referrals to potential Subaru owners, thousands of people considering buying a Subaru visit this board, there is a lot of consumer power on this board and you need to keep that in consideration. In addition you are making slanderous comments regarding a past employee, to his friends.
Another thing to keep in mind is what you're not seeing. Many of the comments are toned down considerably or not made at all due to the fear of retribution they may encounter when they bring their vehicles in for service.
It is great that you stick up for your employees, and that they won't lose their job over this, but did you consider the fact that he needs to be seriously counseled or reprimanded for his actions? Or that one of the many people reading this thread may actually contact and forward this information to the Better Business Bureau? How about if 50 -100 people contacted the Better Business Bureau, what then? I also hope you have some Jewish employees, because if you don't and you've made racial comments regarding them, some folks may view that as a hiring bias! The EEO is a very powerful organization. All I'm saying is be careful what you say and do on a public forum given your position. You have the opportunity to do the right thing and there are quite a few people that would like to see you do it.
They are:
1. Take care of Infek's issues, all of them!
2. Restore your customers trust by making assurances to them that this will not happen again.
3. Resist making any slanderous comments about your customers and employees.
4. Counsel your employee regarding ILLEGAL behavior.
OBTW, washing Infek's car does seem somewhat suspect, considering that my car and most cars I know of who get serviced in Waipahu have never been washed after service. If it smells like shiz, looks like shiz, and tastes like shiz, it probably is shiz!

Please see page 2 for details on what would make this situation right with me...! The things posted on that page are the only things that I want to make this situation right! Make me want to go back to Waipahu Subaru... Make other people want to go back there...
I have been nothing but professional about this whole thing and I've never said anything bad about YOU (when I say yo u I mean Chris) or Waipahu Subaru... It's been a pleasure to own this car that I love so much but this situation just makes me want to sell my car!
ok let's recap... this is what's wrong since the subject changed again...
In order to make me happy and to make things right between me and waipahu subaru it will take the following: (cut and pasted from page 2)
Please do right by me and my car... I haven't come down to see you since I don't think I should waste my time going down there unless I'll be getting what I'm asking for...
You called me today at work to let me know that my paper work for my radiator replacement was ready... this issue isn't done yet... I will not sign the work order until this issue has been resolved.

All I want out of this is to give me a FULL tank of 100 Octane(to make me happy ) and to pay for the brand new gaskets that I just replaced on my car since they are NO GOOD ANYMORE! and to have this situation documented PROPERLY!
