about the 'sticking with your roots' thing, .... the GC8 RS is the 'root' for Subaru performance in America, ... don't forget that. [/B]

about the name clamdip, don't know how to exactly explain it, it's just one of those names you come up with . i see your point though and i totally agree with you. and it's true that the main roots, meaning the first subaru performance, like you say, in america was the GC8 rs. however, i see that the WRX is the root that started all this STi vs. evolution vs. SRT-4 stuff. it was subaru that took the risk, and it was subaru that had the phenomenal sales. so i guess we can conclude that the WRX made the mark and started the trend for affordable, high performance vehicles. i guess those are the roots i was referring to.

I choose my words wisely, ... and I think my point comes across clearly. You're right, your first post wasn't very clear in what you were 'getting at', but I see now. But still, ... we were talking about the STi, how he liked his purchase, ... basically a continuation of a conversation that was in person, .... in the Hawaii forum, not the STi forum, ... that's why you got some of the responses you got after your first post.
Yes, I did wander back in here (been gone for a day or two) just to see what the response was, and hey, I'm willing to let bygones be bygones here Nolimit. I guess from your point of view I can see how some people can get really passionate about how they feel and might come across a little "rough around the edges" (and no that's not an insult and no nothing wrong with being a grease monkey either LOL as long as it's not a rude one ).

I just picked up my '04 Silver WRX yesterday and it totally rocks! I'm really looking forward to seeing some more WRXs and STis on the street here in South Florida. Funny enough, I don't see WRXs every day down here, but it might be the fact that we don't have that many good "enthusiast" dealers here (I had to drive about 50 miles to get a great deal on mine through the Subaru VIP Program and on my trade [Delray Subaru]).

Anyway, glad to finally be an owner, even though I've had the opportunity to drive a number of Subarus in the past. And you guys with the STis make sure you toast some EVOs for me until I can get a couple mods on my ride and do it myself. Then again, the driver can make all the difference .
