Sounds like when you miss a gear. Kinda also like a worn out bearing. I honestly dont even wanna check it for play because I just don't want confirmation I wasted $ and something else is destroying it. Turbo needs oil and coolant to survive. It has both yet does less than 1/4 down road?!

I would be less worried about the turbo and more worried about the "sound like when you miss a gear", aka grinding, aka bad mojo fsho when it comes to mechanical things.

It's coming from the turbo.

Ok downpipe off again and there is NO shaft play. I assume I still have a chance at saving
It if nothing big happened. One thing I did notice is a bolt is missing from my headers at one of the connecting pieces to crossover. A thread a I read said that was the solution of a similar noise. So if I fix that and the noise goes away I am gonna turn my attention at my tune, fuel pump, and EBCS. EBCS doesn't click in test mode but I am not even sure if it supposed to so I am gonna do a diagnostic I saw online.

Yup I checked exhaust turbine but I need to remove inlet to make sure it's still connected to
The intake turbine. Like maybe it snapped.

Other note. I think I am rocking the wrong size banjo bolt! Been like this since I got the car but I assume its supposed to be a bigger one for vf turbo.

I know the other pic says fp but not sure if vf is different

forced performance is a turbo company, i wouldn't use that one for your vf39.
and check for vacuum leaks. make a tester, its easy with $10 worth of home depot parts.

hard to say unless you measure the feed hole. looks closer to an oem banjo than an fp turbo banjo.

Did you notice it having a hard time getting up to boost when boosting? check the outlet of the turbo. i had mine pop off once those bastards a small oil coating on em. try and check your other couplers as well. id say that loud screeching is a big boost leak. especially if its only under boost.

Boosted fine before. The original problem literally came outta no where. No CEL, no noises, no lack if power, nothing. The current problem seems to be a prereq to the first.

my question mainly referred to that section. this is after youve finished installing another turbo right?

God damn it I have been deceived. The oil I saw was not a sufficient supply. I totally disconnected the line from turbo and cranked it with ign fuse removed. Nothing. Started it and got 2 drops came out for 10 seconds of run time. Hope this is my only problem. Time to work my way back and hope the pickup isn't cracked.

Nice findings. Well there you go. Check the line for any obvious restrictions/kinks before you assume that the pick up is bad.
