unless the turbo that exploded on you was a vf39, then you would need a tune anyways. yea you could spend $475 on a used turbo thats known to have cracking issues or $1k and get a brand new turbo thats going to kick a vf39 in the vag. up to you

Main reasons why I cannot get something different and bad timing.
Wifey prego
Wifey needs 2k in dental work that can affect baby if infections sets
As much as I would love a better turbo I cannot swing
Rotation
Bigger turbo inlets
Tunes
FMIC.

refinance your auto loan with penfed and use the money you save to get a turbo. if you can't afford it then either ride a bike for a while and save up or you might as well sell your car. modded cars are no bueno for peeps with limited $. if it were my car i would shell out the money now and make the car reliable for when the kid is riding around in it. imagine if the turbo had grenaded going 60 down the H3 in the rain with your kid in the car. you gotta think about safety too. a VF39 will do the job and probably last you a while but then what? unless you plan to get it running and sell it then it just doesn't make sense not to upgrade it.

Will my 565cc injectors and DW200 be fine for now with a 16g-Xt? I assume so.

they are small but will work. you might not get all the power out of it until you upgrade the injectors but it will run ok until you can save up. you'll be able to run 16-18psi with those injectors and it will still pull harder than any VF39 could. when you do decide to upgrade to 750cc injectors you'll be able to get the max benefit but until then you'll still have fun.

Just out of curiosity. Has anybody "rebuilt" a turbo by just using the item in the link?

PDX should be able to just swap up your tune(I'm guessing you got an OTS map) for on made for a 16gxt. However, I would just cancel their tune, sell the AP, and do an open source with Clark. Probably come out on top with a free hundred.

Dunno, man. According to a few threads he sounds pretty sketchy. Clark Turner (merged thread) - NASIOC Guess they're all pretty old threads though.
