Pat this is how I think I will be tuning, but this will apply to you somewhat

First off what are you going to be using for tuning? Are you going to tune via EGT? Or are you going to foot for the diy WB O2 or Road dyno?

Just EGT alone is enough to get some increase in power. But the road dyno would really compliment things. The WB is really the end all fine tuning solution. I'mg going to shoot for 1500 degrees at WOT

Now starting with either 3rd or 4th gear pulls(I'm going to be doing 3rd as I cant be doing 130MPH pulls on the street) you want to go from 2000 to redline and datalog.

Look for knock or dips in power(if your using the road dyno) then try adding fuel in the dips on the dyno graph or at the knock event RPM. If you get knock add a point of fuel.

For EGT, I'm just looking for a smooth but quick ramp in temp that will not exceed 1500. This I'll accomplish with fuel changes only.

As for timing, dont go over 30 degrees advance. Now for my link it's 10degrees + what ever I want. So in my case I shouldnt go over 20 degrees to give me a total of 30. I'm going to be tapering off the timing like stock at the upper RPM's but not as aggressively as OEM.

I'll work fine tuning boost later I'll shoot for one bar now and push it later.

Oh one last thing, make sure to make back ups of all your maps and make notes on what you did or the conditions of the testing. (e.g. high 80's, humid, 3rd gear till redline, took out fuel at 3-5kRPM, added 2degree's timing at xx RPM, etc)

There is a TEC II PDF on Shiv's site it's a good read and offers some plain english things on what to look for in tuning and Shiv's thoughts on tuning. Take a look at it an read it.

Print pages 21-77 only. The earlier stuff is how to install the TEC and it's features.
