The vocabulary on this law should be interesting if it ever comes to fruition.
And when I mean interesting, I mean that it should really get into some constitutional gray areas.
I think it has actually been in the works for the past two years because of the gray areas.
Nobody wants to put out the money for decible meters but they want the noise to be monitored.
like you said, the wording should be interesting.

lol, as far as I know this has been going on since the recon standards were set. It just seems like in the past few years there has been a bigger push to get it through.
so who knows. This is my wifes main argument against me buying an nice expensive system.
just thought I would add "loud" is generally considered 3 decibels higher than the surrounding noise but the first version of this exhaust info that i saw was "louder than stock". So they have been at least working on trying to make it "fairer'

I honestly would rather see a clear exhaust law and a repeal of the recon law.
At least an exhaust law is specific and would target a community's concerns, but to have an open ended law that enables police officers to give out tickets for whatever...then that just sucks.
I actually empathize with police officers. They have to respond to public complaints and sometimes there just aren't laws to quell all of the complaints, so they do what they think they have to. But I think if the law was more specific to account for the public's concerns and allow the rest of us to do what we want, that would be ideal.
I don't really see the community getting up in arms about my car's suspension being stiff, so I dont understand why that's really regulated, like Releasedacracken has pointed out in the other post
