And to be honest, I'm not going to remove you to E Mod if you have a different beam... we aren't the nationals, and we want to keep it fun. It's not up to us to class your car, though we can recommend. Just make sure you have a beam there, if nothing else, then for safety. Unless you tow it only...

Been working on the sound deadening for the last few nights, this is where I was when I got home today:
Paint thinner and a BRASS WIRE BRUSH (Brass won't scratch the undercoat like stainless will, and it will still agitate the tar enough for it to losen) Couple wipes with thinner to get all the crap off, then spray some diluted simple green and wipe that to get rid of the thinner left on the panels. Leaves you with this:
Deadener removed and the bar under the rear seat(might put the bar back we will see):
I was hoping for more, but I will take 5lbs or whatever the deader total was. If I were to do this all over I don't think I would have bothered.

time to sell some junk and replace my damaged differentials.
Also going to need tires very soon.
If I can't get the car up to par by the first race I might just sit out until I can get it back to racing level. So many things need attention and I just have no time at all. Work's killing me.

THIS article and ghettofabing a lightspeed cable brace offer some interesting possibilities though.

See, I bet that bar alone weighs close to 10 lbs of that 11.4 total.
I really don't think it's worth pulling all the sound deadening in the car even if it weighs 30-40 lbs throughout the car. I even added extra fatmat material because the car sounds like a tin can being kicked around when you drive it on anything but perfectly clean tarmac. Tire noise is much louder, and if you have sticky tires then you know they pick up all the trash on the road and fling it around the wheel wells which makes a hell of a racket when you're trying to listen to your transmission or diff or the first bits of tire squeal or anything else you might want to hear in the car... maybe music too I guess.
My plan is for one layer of FatMat all over the outer layer of sheet metal and one layer of Ensolite closed cell foam. I got the FatMat for free, but if I were buying I'd go with RAAMat. RAAMat materials are superior and their customer service is absolutely top notch.
