Local Video Editing / Digitizing

Hello,

First, sorry for the non-scooby content. Then, if someone based in Hawaii puts out a video on videotape (4 hours) and now wants to put it out on DVD, can you folks make a recomendation on where he should go? Some place capable of digitizing the video and then making dozens of copies onto DVDs.

And now a noob question - if you have a videotape, what's it take to get it into digital format? I mean specific hardware to catch the analog signal and A2D it, etc.?

Looking forward to hearing your responses,

Joel

Personally, I would talk to Farid about it. He could probably point you in the right direction.
They made their Speed Hawaii video in DVD format this last time.

To do this in your own home with your own PC, it's rather simple. If your looking for a professional DVD, then I would just check the yellowpages or like mentioned ask Speedgear who did theirs.

But to do it yourself you would need the following

Video capture card
fast hard drives with lots of space
DVD burner
video editing software
at least a P3 1GHz+ (but a P4 is better and preffered)
at least 256MB RAM but 512MB is better
Windows 2000 or XP Pro

If you need help with a system or what to look for just ask Richard(is2scooby) or I we're both in the "business"
