whats a good video editing program i can dl???
thanks for your suggestion and links of where they are
oh i tried windows video maker or wutever and it simply just doesnt work on my comp. everytime i click transitions it shuts down

I would suggest Final Cut Pro, probably the best video editing program I've used....also this site would probably have this program or others

good chance that ALL editing sw would crash on your machine too.
they are all using SW based effect, unlike dedicated HW accelarator boards for realtime effects.
i think you need to reinstall or check your video driver and/or DIRECT X...

you said WMM crashes.
maybe you just need to reinstall your video drivers first. if that doesnt fix it, reinstall WMM. if that still doesnt work, reload windows.
