Yep, super old. I think it should be said that that particular car is no where near stock when it comes to safety equipment.

But that doesn't mean that Subarus aren't very safe to begin with.

HOLY ****!! That is insane.

I can attest to Subaru safety, and I know others who can as well.

This is my old Suby on the last day I saw it.

That track looks familiar. It looks like Pacific Raceways in Auburn, WA. Can anyone confirm?

I've been to several track days there and saw a turbo 2.5RS crash in similar fashion. The track is fun but you have to know where it can bite you. It looks like he crashed in Turn 1 which is a high speed (145 mph) entry that can mess you up if you lift going into it.

They mention that he got a 1:38 on his warmup lap which is really good. I could only manage a 1:45 in my stock STi.

Turn 1 is shown at 0:18 in the vid of my run below. You have to come into that turn without lifting because it is a slight right going downhill. It looks slow but it is 140+ mph into Turn 1. There was a track day where a Lotus Elise wrecked because he lifted coming into that turn.

yup, that's the track. i remember seeing this in subiesport magazine a while back. dude had a nice car, but he wasn't driving it. he had some other guy drive it for him. amazing enough, he was able to salvage some parts from that car and swap them into his new ride.
