What service were you with, and how long were you with them?

the early termination fee can sometimes be voided if you're switching from verizon because of bad service. if that's the case you may want to explain this to them. be polite and tell them that it is not your intention to remain with a carrier that continually drops your calls, has bad signal, or whatever the case may be. the nicer you are to them the more they will be willing to help you.

good luck.
