Could it be a loose window glass already? Car is like 6 weeks old.

When I open and close my trunk I hear this one loud clanking sound. I hear it once when the trunk is open, and once when it is closed.

The transfer case, however, is making a horrible metal-on-metal noise above 30mph. Imagine the deceleration noise people complain about, only about 8 times as loud and also under acceleration. And this is after a full tranny flush (by the dealer) with BG SynchroShift a day before. 1700 miles on it.

...it feels as though the gearbox wants to jump out of first gear sometimes when I push the clutch and then grab the stick. It's like it springs out of 1st.

I do want to know what the deal is with the 1-2 shifts. I've also got two DSMs. Neither of them do the 1-2 so poorly as this EVO. I'm kinda disappointed as I expected the triple syncros to really help out. If I try to shift over 7k, forget it. :-( Perhaps a clutch switch based fuel cut will help (as it does with the DSMs), but I'm still left wondering why this tranny is so "special".

The past couple days, the power has not been all there. Third gear felt especially anemic. Tonight, boost felt almost completely absent. Under boost, the car sounded louder, but made less power. Finally at one point, while accelerating in second, the Evo started shrieking loudly as it hit peak boost.
