Hi all. Just bought my hardly used 2002 WRX two weeks ago and today I hit a bump and heard a loud thump. I started looking around in the trunk and found the jack loose in the holder thing. I didnt see any way to hold it in place. What supposed to keep it from beating my quarter panel from the inside out?

 

Come on...some one must know! I cant stand that thumping sound any more.

when the jack is in it's holder, twist the ring a little bit as if you were lifting the jack. this will tighten it in the holder.

 

Thats right...you just lower the jack all the way...stick it into the holder...then raise the jack until it is stuck tightly in the holder. Won't move at all.

 

Thanks guys. You wont believe this, but I found a great resource for stupid questions like mine...the f'in manual! Damn I'm such a dumbass sometimes! I really cant wait for it to warm up so I can take out the silencer!
