Help!!!

I dropped my wrenching tool now! Don't want to risk driving the car, can anyone please come and help me! I live in town, 387-5770. I need a magnetic reach thingy and help to get access to under the engine (remove front bumper? under body plastics?) Please :-(

yes, just remove the under panel. if it's in the engine, best thing to do is use a magnet. too bad mines broke a few days ago. gl

Reeeelax. Take your time and work carefully. That plastic undertray is VERY simple to remove. Retrieve your bolt and tool. Leave that undertray off until you finish your prior project.

It's not that bad. Really....and this didn't need its own thread.

you took off the whole bumper? my lower plastic splash guard is held on by three 12mm bolts, 2 clips towards the back, and 2 popits (1 on each side up high). i have an sti, but i think it would be the same on the wrx. be careful with the popits. i broke one when i didn't pull it straight (parallel to the ground/perpendicular to the panel) and had to get a replacement from servco.

removing the splash guard will make it possible for you to do maintenance / engine work (like your own oil changes, change out header or up pipe). but from the sound of things, you'll probably just take it to servco.

imho, you should probably get the service manuals or a subscription to that website you referred to about the ipod "integration kit" install and download them.

it's very difficult for me to get one of the bolts to line up properly. If I bolt it improperly, it pushes in the piece instead of twisting correctly. The space is too tight for me to do.

last night the bolt dropped, this morning i dropped the wrench. I could hear the dropped bolt when I hit the splash guard. But the wrench was in a much more difficult spot so I removed most of the splash guard (3 bolts, 2 front popits, 2 popits near the wheels, not sure how the back part is held). The bolt I was fine with, I was worried about the wrench since it's much larger and more potentially damaging which is why I freaked out.

take your time bro when i get stressed about something i take 15 min drink a beer then go again if u rush or freak out you can break something. you didnt need to remove the bumper but now its something you know how to do so you ended up learning something new.

which bolt is giving u a hard time? if its the one on the driver side then you might have to remove the TMIC to get to it....take your time bro
