damn jeff.....even you can't break that one.

no clue what that's called.

what circled is the bushings. If you're talking about that entire part I think you're gonna have to replace the entire shift set up.

Did the linkage break or did the bolt that attaches it to the trans break? Also do you have aftermarket bushings i.e. Kartboy? What sometimes happens is that when the bushings are installed that bolt gets overtorqued (it isn't supposed to be torqued down that much) and can break either right away or later on.

to add a little bit they are can be installed backwards too

it happened to me

you cant get the car in gear

What gets installed backward is the retaining washer, which has a tab on it for the external return spring that is no longer used but was there on older GC's. With the tab in the wrong place the shifter won't go into all the gears.
