help! weird on-going noise from engine??
hello, I'm posting on here because I feel their might be an issue with my girlfriend's impreza and I am not familiar with impreza engine's so I thought maybe you guys could help me out.
First of all, she owns a 2007 impreza sedan and it is completely stock from the dealer (she bought it brand new). Although, it had sat on the lot for a year so she got a great deal on an '07 rather than getting the '08 which was also on the lot at the time.
Ok now off to the problem...
Ever since she purchased the car, a weird pinging/dripping sound happens after the engine has heated up and after the car is turned off. I have looked for any oil or fluid leaks and can't seem to find any. Also, she has asked the dealership about it after receiving an oil change and they said the sound was normal.
But.. this is the only vehicle I have heard emit this weird sound!
I am just wondering if this is common of other subaru's?? or is this a problem she should really look harder into??
I appreciate any feedback! Thanks!
(i can try to video tape the sound with my phone if anyone thinks it may help)

okay.. i am glad to hear it seems to be normal. guess I was just alarmed by how loud it was and how often it happens.. I guess the metal in my car doesnt get as hot! lol thanks for the info!
