after installing my helix up pipe, a few days later i hear a weird scratching noise when i fully boost. i dunt know wut it is n im wonderin if someone can help me or someone around san jose or bay area can help me figure wut it is. my mods are catback,intake,mbc,bov,up pipe.

 

sounds like you have a leak. check the 2 bottom bolts and gasket on the uppipe.

 

Man I got a funky noise too and i'm sure its in my uppipe. But i'm way to lazy to go through and check it again.

Like a flutter?

 

Mine kinda has a flutter sometimes when I hit boost, does that mean I have a leak?

Most of the time that flutter is your wastegate. You start to hear it after you install up or down or intake. Search i-club for "flutter".

 

leak will sound like a screatching, or in other words, like someone is killing a anime tentacle monster... either way its just not pretty.

 

depending on how bad the leak is, IF that IS what the noise is....it will sound like that, or if its a bad enough leak it will sound like a clicking or a ticking sound when you are on the gas.

exhaust leaks.....LOL

the leak will sound like a teapot. a really small leak will disappear after the engine is at driving temps. but when you start it up in a cold morning, youll hear it.

 

teapot? I'd think a whistle wouldnt be a leak. An exhaust leak is characterized by hearing exhaust pulses. After the turbo its a thumping because the turbo absorbs to much of the sound. Before the turbo its a screeching.
