Doing a project for school and need to know all the engine upgrades that can be done on a 2004 impreza 2.5RS and links to sites.
Are any turbo kits avail on the market?
what kind of gains can be had out of the 2.5?

The more info the better.
Thanks guys.

you can get good power but nothing insane
im a little lazy so links you will need to find on your own
-cobb intake
-borla headers
-lightweight crank pulley
-catback exhaust
-hi flow cat
-grounding kit
-cobb cams
all i can think of right now
no turbo kit is available because in the 02+ RS's they changes something about the compression or something along those lines, im not sure. But turboing it will not work, hence no turbo rs's are really around(02+ once again)

Turbo kits for '00-'01 Imprezas work fine on the '02-'04 RS/TS. Problem is there are only 2 off-the-shelf kits still available, from AVO and Forced Air Tech.
If you want to do NA mods first, well, choose wisely. Nothing that is good for making power on an N/A EJ25 will work later with a turbo kit EXCEPT cams and pullies. Cams are by far the best mod you can do for an RS. Adding a good intake like the Cobb and a complete exhaust system, and you can easily crack 200 crank horsepower.

Hey Ban, I've got a question for ya. I'd be happy with around 200HP (at least for now ) so I was wondering how close I could get with the parts I have and want to put on. So far I have a PDM CAI going into the stock airbox and Random tech cat on the way. I also want to put on a Borla header and some kind of cat-back system. I'm not sure which way to go on the cat-back though as I'm still looking for more choices. Also how much power will new cams give me? I'm sure I'd have to wait on them for a while though so I don't have warranty issues. So whadyathink?

Bah, screw the warranty, get the cams now! Seriously, cams are the best bang for the buck upgrade. I would do that as soon as possible, followed by the rest of the exhaust. Good call on the high flow cat, leaving the stock one in kind of tempers the gains from the headers and exhaust. I would recommend the MRT or TWE headers over the Borlas for power, but nothing beats the Borlas for sound. Cobb has dyno sheets showing a 19 peak whp gain with no other mods, with gains throughout the power band. No lost torque.
